RN Infection Prevention

Responsibilities of an RN Infection Prevention:

• Develop, implement, and maintain infection control policies and procedures under state and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular infection risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of infection prevention strategies.
• Educate healthcare staff on infection prevention protocols and provide ongoing training.
• Monitor and analyze infection data, identifying trends and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Investigate and report healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks as required.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure adherence to infection control measures.
• Oversee the management of infectious materials and waste disposal.
• Provide guidance on hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and other infection control practices.
• Participate in emergency response and crisis management related to infectious disease outbreaks.
• Stay current with infection control research, best practices, and updates.

Qualifications of an RN Infection Prevention:

• RN in NJ
• LTC/SNF experience preferred
